Hi,
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to trace records of my Ancestors who I believe lived/worked in Loftus at the latter end of the 18th century. They later moved to Whitby and were "Jet Farmers", I suspect this means that they may have worked at the Alum site in Loftus. Do you know if there are any employee records for the Alum site, graveyard records or any other way of getting details of my ancestors in Loftus. The ones I know of are Angus McBean (b.1766) and his wife Mary Laverick (married 1787).
I would be grateful for any help.
Thanks
Ben
